It is divided into spiritual purity from polytheism and sins, and physical purity from ritual impurity and physical filth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purposes of Purity in Islam:<\/strong> The purposes of purity in Islamic jurisprudence are divided into two senses: the first is terminological and jurisprudential, referring to the intended actions themselves within the chapters of purity rulings; the second comprises teleological and spiritual purposes, which relate to the wisdom and ultimate objective behind its legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Jurisprudential (Practical) Purposes:<\/strong> The purposes of purity in books of jurisprudence refer to the actions for which the means (such as water and dust\/earth) are legislated. The most important of these are four:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ablution (Wudu):<\/strong> To remove minor ritual impurity in preparation for worship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Full Ghusl:<\/strong> To remove major ritual impurity (such as janabah).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tayammum (Dry Ablution):<\/strong> An emergency alternative when water is missing or one is unable to use it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Removing Impurity:<\/strong> Purifying the body, clothing, and place from physical filth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Teleological Purposes and Legal Wisdom:<\/strong> The deep objectives behind legislating purity lie in educational, health, and social matters, summarized as follows:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compliance and Proximity:<\/strong> Achieving servitude to Allah the Almighty by responding to His command, regardless of other dimensions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Validity of Acts of Worship:<\/strong> Purity was legislated as a fundamental condition for the validity of the keys to prayers, reading the Mushaf, and Tawaf around the Kaaba.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Physical Cleanliness:<\/strong> Removing harm and unpleasant odors, and protecting humans from diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spiritual Refinement:<\/strong> Renewing bodily vitality and mental clarity, and making the Muslim feel spiritually prepared to meet Allah the Almighty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beautiful Appearance:<\/strong> Appearing in a clean manner befitting the dignity of a Muslim human being before creation and in society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fundamental Pillars of Ablution:<\/strong> Washing the face, washing the hands up to the elbows, wiping the head, and washing the feet up to the ankles, while observing the proper order (Tartib) and continuity (Muwalat).
